Shopfronts for estate agents

An estate agent's window is its advert, so people should be able to read the listings from the pavement at any hour. Clear glass, a sensible display zone and good lighting matter more than decoration. The door should look inviting to someone thinking of selling, and the fascia should match the branding across a group of offices. Many agents also want a front that locks up securely while leaving the window lit in the evening.

What matters most?

A window built for display

Large panes with slim frames give hanging displays more room. We can plan power and fixings before the glazing goes in.

Glass that keeps screens readable

Reflections and low sun can make screens hard to read. Anti-reflective or solar-control glass is worth pricing on a sunny frontage.

Security that keeps the display visible

A solid shutter hides the window you are paying to light. Laminated glass or an internal open grille keeps the listings on view after closing.

Branding that matches between offices

Aluminium fascias and letters can be repeated across branches to the same colours and drawings. Each site still needs its own consent check.

A display inside the window can still count as an advert in England. Lit displays, and those within a metre of the glass, rely on deemed consent and are not exempt, so a council could act if one causes harm. Listed buildings may need consent for the fixings.

Common questions

Will we need advertisement consent for a new fascia?

It depends on size, position and lighting. In England many unlit signs have deemed consent, while most illuminated ones need express consent, especially in a conservation area. We prepare the drawings, and the council decides.

Can you match the rest of our branches?

Yes, if you send us the brand drawings or an existing fascia to copy. We match colour by RAL reference where we can, and each branch gets its own free survey and written fixed quote for a new front.
